One of the questions you ask us most on social networks and especially in our weekly Podcasting podcast is what wearable we can recommend. Although our immediate response is almost always to acquire the Xiaomi Mi Band 4, it is not the only one.

I don't have a Samsung mobile, can I use the Galaxy Watch?
I don't have a Samsung mobile, can I use the Galaxy Watch?

Because if what you are looking for is a smartwatch, things change a bit. Although Android smartphones are still light years away from what the competition offers with their Apple Watch, this does not mean that we do not have exciting things in the market.

One of the most attractive options is the Samsung Galaxy Watch, but the doubt is, do you need to have a South Korean brand mobile to use it?

The answer is YES. Although the Galaxy Watch does not have Wear OS but has its version of Tizen, it is compatible with virtually any current Android device.

As you will remember, Samsung, in the beginning, decided that their smartwatches were usually compatible with their own mobile devices. However, luckily they reconsidered, and now that is a thing of the past.

Of course, the Galaxy Watch integrates much better in the "Samsung" ecosystem, but nothing happens to use it with another device of another brand. The only downside is that several Samsung applications will have to be installed to synchronize all our data, such as Galaxy Wearable among others.

If the latter does not bother you, the Galaxy Watch is a beautiful device with many exciting features. It may not be a wearable suitable for everyone, but if we ignore its limitations, we are faced with a reasonably capable gadget.

Now, we cannot forget that in case of having a Samsung phone like the future Galaxy S20, we can get much more out of it so that each one will have to assess whether it is worthwhile or not to buy a device of these characteristics.
